Staff Bios
Paul Van Loenhout
Director and owner of Mt Magnet Drilling, founded the company in 1981 and has gradually built the company from the ground up. Starting with one rig and now with 9 rigs Mt Magnet Drilling has become one of the most successful Drilling Companies in the Industry. Paul has spent over 25 years in the field operating and overseeing the day to day running of the business.
Lou Lequerica
Lou started with Paul in 1985 and has since become the second in charge and Operations Manager at Mt Magnet Drilling. Lou has 25 years’ experience in the drilling industry and is a skilled engineer as well as the key member of the team for running the day to day operations of the company.
Jamie Hamilton
Starting with Mt Magnet Drilling in 2001, Jamie has become a key member of the team, working with Lou as the Operations Coordinator. In his 10 years with the company Jamie has developed impeccable skills as a driller and supervisor, offering training and leadership to the Mt Magnet Drilling Team. Jamie is a qualified TAE Cert IV Trained Assessor and Cert IV Occupational Health and Safety Trained.
Carl Harrington
Carl has worked at Mt Magnet Drilling since 2007 and immediately upskilled the Engineering and Manufacturing capabilities of MMD with his skill and knowledge. Carl has worked with drilling rigs for over 25 years with many staff members referring to him as the 'Wizard'.
Jon-Paul Van Loenhout
Officially starting with Mt Magnet Drilling in 2000, Jon-Paul spent years as an offsider before progressing to Driller and Senior Driller. Now working from the Wangara Office, Jon-Paul is the Occupational, Health and Safety Coordinator for Mt Magnet Drilling, offering training, maintained safety systems and on-site audits. Jon-Paul holds TAE Cert IV Trained Assessor, Cert IV Occupational Health and Safety, Certificate III in Drilling Principles and is a Drill Skill Registered Assessor.
